The Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge is one of the top four competitions worldwide that captures a true global perspective for bartenders. Angostura has bartenders from all over the world competing; Russia, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Asia, Latin America (Brazil, Argentina, Mexico) and the Caribbean. This competition has the largest prize package for a bartender which entails a two year contact as a global brand ambassador and a hefty cash prize of usd$10,000.00 Of the ten Trinidadian bartenders that were selected, only one can represent Trinidad and Tobago against thirteen competitors globally. Bartenders from north, south, east and central Trinidad are given the challenge to create two cocktails per category, of one Rum and the other, Freestyle. For the Rum category, five dashes of Angostura Bitters must be used with one of the Angostura Rums. For the Freestyle, Angostura Orange Bitters is required at the bartender’s leisure along with whichever spirit he chooses along with passion.. creativity.. and most importantly a bartender’s love for Angostura Rum and Bitters
